Following its triumphant premier in 2019, The Royal New Zealand Ballet’s production of Hansel and Gretel returns with an audio described performance at Napier’s St James Theatre on the 4th of November 2023.
Follow Hansel and Gretel’s journey as they navigate the forest encountering a host of magical characters along the way. This production is an assortment of spooky forest creatures, fantastical food and a sinister chorus line of pink-iced gingerbread men, all set to Claire Cowen’s original score.
For the first time, The Royal New Zealand Ballet is thrilled to offer audio description at every venue of this nationwide tour. A free touch tour will be held in Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Auckland and introduction to ballet terminology will be held before the show – giving you a chance to touch set pieces, feel costume samples and gain behind-the-scenes insight into the production.
