NZSO Relaxed Concerts are for audiences who may feel uncomfortable in a traditional concert environment. This concert is particularly suited to people with autism or sensory, communication or learning disabilities. There is a relaxed attitude to noise and movement during the performance.
Also, lighting effects are minimal and a ‘chill out’ space is available.

Conductor Holly Mathieson and the Orchestra will perform a selection of works from their Town and Country programme, including:

  • BEETHOVEN: Symphony No.6 in F Major, Op. 69
Pastoral I. Allegro ma non troppo
    (8min)
  • ARNOLD
    English Dances Set II (10min)
  • DA FALLA
Suite No. 1 from ‘The Three Cornered
    Hat’ (11min)
  • BARRY / NIC RAINE
Out Of Africa: I Have a Farm in Africa
    (4min)
  • BERNSTEIN
On The Town: Three Dance Episodes
    (9min)

Click here to listen to the pieces.

Once the performance has finished, you will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with some of our musicians and their instruments in the foyer at each of the venues.
