VISUAL OR HEARING IMPAIRMENT

We believe that all people of all abilities will be able to access the awe-inspiring playground that is Tūrama. We're dedicated to creating a safe and accessible event for everybody to enjoy, and have partnered with the right people to help make this happen.

Audio Described Aotearoa will be providing a unique tour of the festival for those who are blind or have low vision. These free tours will move through the park providing an audio description of the artworks, with the added bonus of meeting selected artists for a live description of their work.

A sign language interpreter will also be presenting a unique tour designed for those with impaired hearing. This tour will include a guided walk of the festival artworks, plus exclusive meet and greets with some of the artists.

Tūrama Festival has an accessible pick up/drop off zone, accessible facilities and dedicated staff on-site to help make everyone’s experience as effortless and enjoyable as possible. Tours will take place on Thursday 1 October. To book a place, please email us at hello@turamafestival.co.nz or call us on 027 649 2940.
