Join a tour at Te Papa for blind and low-vision visitors and explore precious treasures in the Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality exhibition. This two hour sensory tour on 13 February starts at 1.30pm.
Experience the wonder of the terracotta warriors, who secretly guarded the tomb of the First Emperor of China for over 2,000 years. Explore ancient Chinese art through audio description, handling objects and discussing selected pieces. Discover what these objects might reveal about the lives and beliefs of those who made them, and how their ideas and creations resonate today. We spend an hour and a half in the gallery, where there is seating.Afterwards, we continue our discussions over refreshments. This tour has been designed for adults. Sighted companions and guide dogs are welcome. Companions are admitted free.
Bookings are essential, as places are limited. When you book you will be asked for payment to cover the cost of your exhibition entry, but the sensory tour is free.
