Come into the woods for the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s playful new interpretation of the classic tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
All the family will enjoy the familiar tale of bears, chairs, mystery and mischief in the perfect introduction to storytelling in dance.
This performance is an opportunity for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, and other sensitivity issues or special needs, to experience the world of ballet in a sensory-friendly environment.
At this performance there is a more casual approach to front of house etiquette and a more relaxed attitude to noise (voluntary and involuntary) in the auditorium. The aim is to minimise patrons’ anxiety and to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable theatre visit.
At the end of the performance there is an opportunity to talk to the dancers and see the costumes close-up.
Wheelchair booking is suggested for all shows due to limited wheelchair space. Book a wheelchair space here.
A social story is downloadable from Te Papa's website. Containing descriptions of what to expect at the performance, the social story is a great way to ensure patrons get maximum enjoyment from the experience.
