Taha Hotu Deaf and Disabled Artists’ Initiative

Taha Hotu is a national initiative led by Arts Access Aotearoa. It supports Deaf and disabled artists to develop their creative practice, create new work, and strengthen career pathways. Taha Hotu provides mentoring, networking, resources, and opportunities to connect with the wider arts sector.

What Taha Hotu offers

For Deaf and disabled artists

We provide and share opportunities for artists to connect, share ideas, and showcase their work. Through networking, mentoring, and resources, artists are supported to develop their practice and tell their stories on their own terms.

For supporters and allies

We welcome producers, curators, organisations, and others working to increase accessibility. Taha Hotu connects allies with Deaf and disabled creatives and shares guidance on accessible and inclusive practice.
