Mary Ama and the Pacifica Mamas on TVNZ

Mary Ama and the Pacifica Mamas received the Arts Access Corrections Community Award at the Arts Access Awards 2015 held at Parliament on 1 July. Mary Ama and Tiana Epati appeared on TVNZ's Breakfast news the morning after the awards evening to talk about the award and the work they do at Spring Hill Corrections Facility.

And in September, reporter Sam Kelway, went with the Mamas to Spring Hill Corrections Facility to find out more about their project in the Pacific Focus Unit (Vaka Fa’aola) of the prison.

Mary Ama and the Pacifica Mamas received the award for their commitment to the Pacific community and the cultural dimension they bring to their projects.
