Online hui programme
We have 10 online sessions, one each month February–November, to keep members from across Aotearoa connected and provide a space for learning, connection and sharing.
Three types of online hui:
- Monthly Meetups (regular connection and discussion)
- Webinars (experts presenting on specific topics)
- Guest Q&A sessions (asking Deaf and disabled arts professionals about their lived experience)
Accessibility: NZSL interpreters can be provided by request. Registration closes 7 days before each hui.
Upcoming online hui sessions
Wednesday 20 May, 1:00pm–2:00pm
Monthly Meetup: Building a culture of accessibility
Accessibility often rests with one person within an organisation and gets lost when that person moves on. Let's explore how to embed accessibility into the culture of an organisation.
Registration: By 4:00pm Wednesday 13 May
Accessibility: NZSL interpreters available by request
Wednesday 17 June, 1:00pm–2:00pm
Guest Q&A: Deaf accessibility with Rāhera Turner
Deaf consultant and company manager of Equal Voices Arts Rāhera Turner answers all you've ever wanted to know about being a Deaf artist. In a conversational Q&A session, Rāhera will share her perspective and lived experience, answering all the questions Network members have about working with and welcoming Deaf artists and audiences. Click the registration button to sign up for the session and submit your questions anonymously.

Drop-in learning sessions
Starting in April, monthly drop-in sessions offer practical, focused learning for Network members working in arts organisations.
These drop-in Zoom sessions will include 20-30 minutes of 'how-to' information from Katie, and the rest of the hour will be open for questions. Sessions focus on general arts accessibility projects, resources and concepts and are designed specifically for Network members working in arts organisations. These sessions are designed to answer common questions and share useful tools in a collective space.
When: Each session includes a short deep dive from Katie, followed by open Q&A. These sessions are designed to answer common questions and share useful tools in a collective space.
Accessibility: These sessions will not have NZSL interpreters unless otherwise noted. There is no need to register. Click the link to join at the scheduled time.
Upcoming drop-in sessions
Thursday 7 May: Website and digital accessibility information
Exactly what accessibility information needs to be included on your website or digital communications? Where should this information go, and what formats should you use? We will explore examples of best practice, how to learn what's needed, and how to break down the task of including online accessibility information to fit your schedule, budget and expertise.
Thursday 4 June: Creating a welcome video for your space or event
Welcome videos can be an accessibility tool, marketing and a showcase all rolled into one. We'll explore setting up a welcome video script, tips for filming and editing and how to make one resource provide access for as many people as possible.
Thursday 2 July: Find your language - describing an accessible space or event
How do you accurately describe the accessibility of your space or event? When you say 'accessible', what does that really mean? Explore what words to use and avoid, and tips on keeping your language up to date. Learn to balance describing how the space or event is accessible and who you want to come along, without accidentally excluding people by being too specific or focusing on impairment.
Future drop-in sessions
- 6 August: Create a visual guide
- 10 September: Accessible marketing (note: this session will happen the second Thursday of the month)
- 1 October: Accessible audition notices, expressions of interest and job opportunities
- 5 November: To be announced
Regional visits
The Arts For All Network is visiting regions across Aotearoa in 2026 to connect with local Arts For All Network members. Our activities:

In-person hui to connect, share your arts accessibility mahi, and explore how we can remove barriers to the arts together.
-
Workshops for arts organisations and arts workers to upskill in a specific area of arts accessibility.
