About the Arts For All Network

Arts Access Aotearoa facilitates a national Arts For All Network, aimed at encouraging artists, festivals, performing arts companies, literary organisations, museums, galleries, venues and producers to improve their access to Deaf and disabled artists and audiences. The Network, which includes representatives from the disability sector, shares insights, information and resources, and is a forum where you can ask questions and get advice. It was inspired by Ngā toi mō te katoa: Arts For All, a practical guide to accessibility published by Arts Access Aotearoa.

Join the national Network

We encourage you to join the national Arts For All Network, participate in our online forums and hui, and be part of a group committed to improving accessibility. In addition, we facilitate an annual in-person hui in seven regional Arts For All Networks across New Zealand: Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago. Click on the region on the map to find out about the members in your region.

Stace Robertson, Lead Accessibility Advisor, Arts Access Aotearoa is the first point of contact for arts venues and organisations, festivals and practitioners planning to become more accessible and inclusive in the arts. In this role, he:

  • advises arts organisations, venues and practitioners on the design and delivery of effective arts projects, activities and events
  • provides advice on inclusive infrastructure and processes, including guidance on writing an accessibility policy
  • acts as a conduit for potential collaborations, partnerships and the sharing of ideas between arts professionals.

For more information about the Arts For All Network and to join, please contact Milly Hampton, Arts For All Activator (T: 04 802 4349 E: afa@artsaccess.org.nz).

About the network

News, events, opportunities and tips

Arts Access Aotearoa can help you promote your accessible events. We write news stories and post these on the website and, sometimes, on The Big Idea, Creative New Zealand, Ministry of Culture and Heritage, and Scoop websites. We also promote these stories on social media. Please email Iona with your newsworthy stories. Also let us know if you have any useful tips, resources, opportunities and events to share.

You can post your accessible arts events on the Arts Access Aotearoa  events calendar and we will broadcast it to other relevant what's on sites.
